About
Frontend developer focused on design-driven interfaces. After years in manufacturing, security and retail, I turned to programming in September 2025 as a way to create again, reconnecting with a part of myself that had been there since childhood. Since then I have shipped five projects of my own and led the frontend of a client platform, live since July 2026, that runs a combat sports association's membership, bookings and payments.
Looking for my first frontend role where design and code matter equally. Based in Vila Nova de Gaia, with a preference for on-site work in the Porto area, and open to remote.
Selected Projects
Live since July 2026. Membership platform for a combat sports association in Vila Nova de Gaia with around 400 members, replacing three disconnected third-party services with one system the client owns outright. Public site, member portal with self-service registration and class booking, admin panel, payments, ticketed events with QR check-in and financial reporting. I own the frontend and the design system; a second developer owned the backend and, partway through, I absorbed that scope along with QA, infrastructure and the client relationship. Implementation is AI-assisted, directed and reviewed by me. Case study.
California-inspired fictional skate shop with a demo shopping flow. 42 products across six categories, cart, simulated login and checkout, and browser-stored order history. Original brand identity and all product content created from scratch.
Formula 1 data browser covering every season from 1950 to the present. Race calendars, full results with qualifying, driver and constructor standings, and individual driver profiles by season.
Scroll-driven descent to the floor of the Challenger Deep, where scroll position maps to real ocean depth. 43 species placed and sized from a hand-curated dataset, with a live instrument panel for depth, pressure, temperature and light.
Checks WCAG AA and AAA contrast across a whole colour palette, suggests fixes for failing pairs, and keeps the palette and settings in a shareable URL. Tested the colour logic and URL state with 72 unit tests.

Education
Broad foundation across programming, web development, mobile, databases, networking and information systems. All modules complete, including frontend, backend, SQL, NoSQL, CMS development, structured and object-oriented programming, React, C# and systems analysis. Capstone project: GotaGO, a React Native application that finds the cheapest fuel stations near the user from the official DGEG price dataset, where I led the frontend. Notable course project: Dimmer, an Android film and TV series application built during the mobile development module (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, TMDB API).
